1. Single, rounded closed tip with two opposing eyelets – Features a blunt, atraumatic rounded tip that minimizes trauma to the urethral mucosa during insertion. Two large, opposing side holes (eyelets) near the tip ensure complete drainage of bladder contents. 2. Smooth, flexible PVC or latex construction – Made of medical-grade polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or natural latex rubber. The smooth, low-friction surface reduces irritation during passage through the urethra. Latex-free PVC options are available for patients with latex allergy. 3. Single-use, sterile, with a radiopaque line (optional) – Typically supplied as a sterile, single-use device to prevent urinary tract infections. Some models include a barium-impregnated radiopaque line along the shaft, allowing X-ray visualization to confirm proper placement.
