CVC Kit
Central Venous Catheter (CVC Kit) 1. Multiple lumen options – Available in single, double, triple, or even quadrupole lumen configurations, allowing simultaneous infusion of incompatible medications, fluid resuscitation, and central venous pressure monitoring through separate channels. 2. Radiopaque catheter body & tip – The entire catheter is impregnated with barium or similar contrast material, making it clearly visible under X-ray/fluoroscopy to confirm proper tip placement in the superior vena cava (SVC) or cavoatrial junction. 3. Antimicrobial/antithrombotic coating (select models) – Some kits feature catheters coated with chlorhexidine, silver sulfadiazine, or heparin to reduce the risk of catheter-related bloodstream infections (CRBSI) and thrombus formation. 4. Complete procedure-ready components – Includes all necessary accessories in a sterile, single-use kit: Seldinger needle, guidewire (usually J-tip with straight or angled introducer), dilators (one or more sizes), scalpel, suture with needle, sterile drapes, syringes, and transparent dressings. 5. Tunneled or non-tunneled design – Non-tunneled kits (e.g., temporary access) are for short-term use (days to weeks), while tunneled kits (e.g., Permcath type) include a Dacron cuff for subcutaneous tunneling, reducing infection risk for long-term access (months to years).
