Hemodialysis Catheter Kit
1. Single, Dual or triple lumen design with staggered exit ports – Features two lumens (arterial/red and venous/blue) or a third purple lumen for medication infusion. Staggered side holes at the distal tip minimize recirculation and maximize dialysis efficiency. 2. Large bore size (11–14 Fr) – Designed to accommodate high blood flow rates (typically 250–450 mL/min) required for effective hemodialysis, with reinforced tubing to prevent collapse under negative pump pressure. 3. Tunneled (with Dacron cuff) or non-tunneled design – Non-tunneled kits are for short-term acute use (days to 2 weeks). Tunneled kits feature a polyester (Dacron) cuff that promotes tissue ingrowth, creating a infection barrier for long-term access (weeks to months or even 1+ year). 4. Radiopaque catheter & pre-curved shape – The entire catheter is barium-impregnated for X-ray visualization. Some kits include a pre-shaped, curve-tip design (e.g., step-tip or split-tip) to reduce vessel wall irritation and enhance flow dynamics. 5. Complete Seldinger technique kit – Includes all necessary sterile components: introducer needle, J‑tip guidewire, peel‑away sheath (large bore), dilators (one or multiple sizes), scalpel, suture, sterile drapes, syringes, and transparent dressings. The peel‑away sheath allows easy insertion without damaging the catheter.
