IV Cannula Dressing

IV Cannula Dressing

Non-woven IV Cannula Dressing: 1. Highly Breathable & Absorbent Made from non-woven fabric (e.g., viscose or polyester), this dressing allows maximum air circulation to the skin and effectively absorbs moisture or minor exudate. This helps prevent skin maceration (softening/breakdown from excess moisture) and reduces the risk of dressing loosening due to sweat. 2. Gentle on Skin & Hypoallergenic The soft, non-woven material is less likely to irritate sensitive or fragile skin. It is an excellent choice for patients with known allergies to plastic-based adhesives or for long-term wear. 3. Absorbent Pad Integrated Typically features a built-in absorbent pad (non-adherent to the wound/cannula site) surrounded by a non-woven adhesive border, providing both absorption and secure fixation. PU IV Cannula Dressing: 1. Transparent for Continuous Site Monitoring Made from a clear, thin PU film that allows clinicians to visually inspect the IV insertion site for early signs of infection (redness, swelling, discharge) or infiltration without removing the dressing. This enables timely intervention and reduces unnecessary dressing changes. 2. Waterproof & Bacterial Barrier The PU membrane is waterproof, protecting the insertion site from external contaminants, moisture (e.g., from showering or spills), and bacteria. This creates a secure, closed environment that reduces infection risk. 3. High Breathability (MVTR) Despite being waterproof, high-quality PU films are microporous and allow moisture vapor and oxygen to pass through (high Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate). This prevents sweat accumulation under the dressing and maintains skin integrity
